The Asia Vaccine Confidence and Public Health Initiatives (AVCPHI) is co-founded by two leading researchers in vaccine confidence and public health, driving evidence-based advocacy and regional impact.

Professor Dr Wong Li Ping

Dr Wong Li Ping is a leading public health researcher specialising in vaccine confidence, health behaviour, and population health. Her work focuses on understanding the social and behavioural determinants of vaccine uptake, with extensive contributions to national and regional studies on vaccine hesitancy, risk perception, and health communication. Through her research and leadership, she actively informs evidence-based strategies to strengthen immunisation programmes and public trust in vaccines across diverse communities.

Associate Professor Ts. Dr Lee Hai Yen

Dr Lee Hai Yen is a microbiologist and vaccine researcher at the Tropical Infectious Diseases Research and Education Centre (TIDREC), Universiti Malaya. Her work focuses on translational biotechnology, including mRNA vaccine development for neglected tropical diseases, microbial platforms for vaccine delivery, and microbial-based health innovations. She is actively involved in building national vaccine capabilities through research, industry collaboration, and capacity development, contributing to Malaysia’s efforts toward vaccine self-reliance and biomanufacturing readiness.
